Russian River Workday |
Description: |
The Russian Riverkeeper invites river lovers to help restore a chunk of Guerneville riverbank habitat, which is slated to be turned into a public park and demonstration restoration project. Riverkeeper Don McEnhill has scheduled volunteer workdays every Thursday afternoon, from noon to 4 p.m., weather permitting. Restoration activities include: erosion control, trail building, invasive plant removal, planting native vegetation and trash pickup. Please bring gloves and drinking water and wear sturdy shoes. The site is located on the north bank of the Russia River directly upstream of the pedestrian bridge. Access is down a driveway west of Woody’s River Glass. Volunteers should look for a blue and white sign that says, “Russian Riverkeeper Demonstration Riparian Restoration Project Future Community Park.” For more information please call Don McEnhill at 217-4762, or e-mail him at rrkeeper@sonic.net. |
